Islamabad (News International / Pakistan Point News - NNI. 29th November, 2024) Foreign Office Spokesperson Mumtaz Zahra Baloch has warned that the Interior Ministry has arrested Afghan citizens during protests, and will ask all foreigners to stay away from Pakistan’s political affairs. During the weekly briefing at the Foreign Office, Spokesperson Mumtaz Zahra Baloch said that the Interior Department has arrested Afghan citizens during protests in Islamabad, and the Interior Ministry will release the details of the arrested Afghan citizens.
She clarified that the participation of foreign citizens in Pakistani political protests is completely illegal, and will ask all foreigners to stay away from Pakistan’s political affairs. The spokesperson said that the President of Belarus visited at the invitation of the Prime Minister, in which bilateral relations were discussed, the two sides discussed the regional and global situation, and several agreements and MoUs were also signed on this occasion.
The spokesperson said that a comprehensive cooperation roadmap for the period 2025-2027 was also signed during the visit of the Belarusian delegation. Mumtaz Zahra Baloch said that Speaker of the National Assembly Ayaz Sadiq is currently on an official visit to Russia, Ayaz Sadiq will hold bilateral meetings there, while an MoU will also be signed to strengthen parliamentary cooperation. The Foreign Office spokesperson said that Pakistan welcomes the ceasefire agreement in Lebanon, we support Lebanon’s sovereignty.
He said that Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar will visit Iran on December 2-3, where he will participate in the CCO Foreign Ministers’ meeting. Pakistan condemns the genocide in Gaza. Condemning Indian atrocities on Kashmiris, he said that last week, 4 Kashmiri citizens were subjected to brutal torture during detention in an Indian army camp in Kishtwar district of occupied Kashmir. There is anger and resentment among Kashmiris due to the incident. Pakistan demands that those responsible for the incident be punished.
Asked about the UK's statement against the arrest of journalist Matiullah Jan, the spokesperson said that the Ministry of Information can comment on the circumstances under which Matiullah Jan was arrested. The spokesperson clarified that there are no negotiations taking place between the Pakistani government and the Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan and there is no ban on Pakistanis traveling to the UAE.
