Geneva (News International New Latest - NNI. 09 November 2024) 50 countries, including the World Health Organization (WHO), have warned about the increase in attacks on computer networks against hospitals for ransom, but the United States Russia has been held responsible for this. WHO chief Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus called these attacks on hospitals a matter of life and death at the Security Council meeting. It is known that these attacks on the health sector have increased in intensity and number.


Cybercrime, including ransomware, is a major threat to global security.


More than 50 countries, including South Korea, Ukraine, Japan, Argentina, France, Germany and the United Kingdom, signed a joint declaration on ransomware at the Security Council meeting. There is a direct threat to and delays in the delivery of health services are putting human lives at risk, causing economic losses and may even pose a threat to international peace and security.

The statement also criticized countries that knowingly allow those involved in ransomware attacks to continue their operations. France and South Korea have also criticized North Korea in this regard.
