November 15, 2024) According to the official media of Pakistan, Federal Minister of Defense Khawaja Muhammad Asif was harassed and threatened with stabbing while traveling by train in London on Monday. Khawaja Asif in his statement filed with the police said, "I was going to Reading via Elizabeth Line along with a loved one when a group of three to four people harassed me in the train and made a video without my permission. , used foul language, and threatened to kill with a knife."

The incident of threatening him took place on November 11, 2024 at around 3:30 in the afternoon. He also said that he did not know any of the people involved.

Khawaja Asif has demanded that the London Transport Police track down the accused with the help of CCTV videos, because such heinous incidents of threats of death and harassment are shameful and embarrassing for the 1.7 million British citizens of Pakistani origin living in the UK. Sorry.
London Transport Police have confirmed they are investigating the matter after the footage was sent to police. Earlier, police officers went to Pakistan High Commission to meet Khawaja Asif on Thursday afternoon.
The Defense Minister expressed his disappointment over the incident and said that the disturbing trend of harassment of Pakistani officials and political figures in the UK increases.
Former Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif lamented the incident, saying that such persons have been "trained and groomed" to chase people.
Reacting to this video, Federal Information Minister Atta Tarar said in his statement on X, "This is not freedom of expression, it is a direct threat, which requires serious legal action."
