November 22, 2024) The cell of PTI founder Imran Khan in Adiala Jail in Rawalpindi has been declared a regular police station, police personnel have been deployed, orders to declare Circle 4 as a police station have been issued by the CPO Rawalpindi. According to sources, Circle 4, the cell of PTI founder in Adiala Jail, has been declared as New Town police station.
Police security has been deployed at the PTI founder cell, while police personnel will perform duty in 3 shifts at the cell. Sources further say that the CPO Rawalpindi has sent a letter to the Superintendent Adiala Jail in this regard. It should be noted that yesterday, the Anti-Terrorism Court had approved a 5-day physical remand of PTI founder Imran Khan in a case registered at New Town police station.
As soon as the physical remand was approved, the cell of the PTI founder was declared a police station. Anti-Terrorism Court Judge Amjad Ali Shah held a hearing in Rawalpindi’s Adiala Jail. The prosecution had sought a 15-day physical remand, on which the court had approved Imran Khan’s five-day physical remand. The founder of PTI had rejected his request to be discharged from the case.
Imran Khan will remain in the custody of the New Town police station in Adiala Jail on physical remand. Imran Khan will be produced before the court again on November 26 in the New Town police station case. Investigation Officer Rashid Kayani will conduct the investigation in Adiala Jail. Earlier, the Islamabad High Court had ordered the bail of PTI founder Imran Khan in the Toshakhana 2 case and his release.
The Islamabad High Court had granted bail to the PTI founder by ordering him to submit bonds of Rs 1 million each. The court also ordered the PTI founder to appear before the trial court. However, later, Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf founder Imran Khan was arrested in a terrorism case registered at the New Town police station in Rawalpindi. The Rawalpindi police had registered a case against the PTI founder at the New Town police station for arson, stone pelting, resisting the police, and damaging government property under terrorism and other sections.
