Opening ceremony of the 7th International Conference on Energy, Environment and Sustainable Development held at Mehran University

NAB team returns empty-handed without arresting Bushra Bibi

 A National Accountability Bureau team had arrived in Peshawar to arrest the wife of the PTI founder in the 190 million pound reference, but after her absence, the team returned to Rawalpindi.

Peshawar (News International Newspaper Latest. November 29, 2024) The National Accountability Bureau team left for Rawalpindi without arresting Bushra Bibi, the wife of PTI founder. The NAB team had reached Peshawar to arrest Bushra Bibi in the 190 million pound reference. The Home Secretary was asked in writing by NAB officials to cooperate in the arrest of the accused.


The National Accountability Bureau (NAB) team had reached the Chief Minister’s House to arrest Bushra Bibi, but returned from there due to her absence. Earlier, NAB had issued arrest warrants for Bushra Bibi, the wife of PTI founder, after which the NAB team reached Peshawar to arrest Bushra Bibi.


The NAB team was also trying to arrest Bushra Bibi in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa 3 days ago.


Yesterday, the NAB team was again formed for the arrest. The NAB team had reached the Chief Minister’s House to arrest Bushra Bibi. On being informed of Bushra Bibi’s absence, it had left after registering its arrival and departure. It was reported that the NAB team had reached the official residence of the Chief Minister of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa in two vehicles. The NAB team was informed by the security of the Chief Minister’s House that Bushra Bibi was not here, after which it left.

It should be noted that on November 22, a non-bailable arrest warrant was issued for Bushra Bibi, wife of PTI founder Imran Khan, in the 190 million pound reference in Adiala Jail, Rawalpindi. The reference was heard by Accountability Court Judge Nasir Javed Rana. The 190 million pound reference was heard in Adiala Jail, Rawalpindi, Bushra Bibi did not appear in court even today. During the hearing, the PTI founder was produced before the court, but the accused had not submitted their statement under Section 342 even today.

The court directed NAB to arrest Bushra Bibi and produce her on November 26 and also issued a show cause notice to the surety. Bushra Bibi’s lawyer had requested exemption from appearing in court on medical grounds, to which NAB objected that Bushra Bibi’s medical certificate was from Peshawar Lady Reading Hospital, while the notary attestation was from Islamabad. During the hearing, the court issued a non-bailable arrest warrant for Bushra Bibi. The warrants were issued by the court due to Bushra Bibi’s continuous absence from court.
