St. Gabriel School children study visit to Allama Iqbal Open University

Islamabad (News Internationalnew Newspaper Latest - APP. November 15, 2024) A group of students from St. Gabriel School in Islamabad made a one-day study visit to Allama Iqbal Open University. In the first phase, the children were given a visit to the printing press of the university, where the in-charge of the printing press, Dr. Sarmad Iqbal, showed the machines to the children and explained all the stages of designing, pasting, plating and printing in detail.


To the children's question, Dr. Sarmad Iqbal replied that the largest printing press in Asian universities is of Allama Iqbal Open University and we print 20 lakh books every semester from this press. In response to another question, he said that it is Apart from Pakistan, the machines are imported from Japan, Germany, UK and China.


During the visit to the call center, facilitation center, the children were also briefed on the student facilities there.


Here, on the question of the students, they were told that on a daily basis 1500 calls are attended in the call center and the required information is provided to the students, while more number of students visit the facilitation center to solve their problems. And their problems are solved here under one roof. Later, the children were also given a visit to the library and radio/TV studios.

The children took great interest in the Iqbal Gallery of the library and asked various questions, the senior cataloger of the library, Muhammad Ishaq, gave satisfactory answers to the children. The children's faces lit up with joy when they saw the radio / TV studios of the university. In his comments on the visit to the university, he said that we felt like we had come to a university in a developed country because all the things of the university, including academic facilities, administrative matters, were more beautiful and wonderful than imagined. The children shouted slogans of Pakistan Zindabad and Allama Iqbal Open University Zindabad.
