UK Transport Department team visits Pakistan Civil Aviation Authority

 Strengthening cooperation in aviation security was discussed

Islamabad (News International Latest News - NNI. November 12, 2024) A delegation from the Department of Transport of the United Kingdom, led by the Secretary for Aviation Muhammad Abdul Ghaffar, visited the headquarters of the Pakistan Civil Aviation Authority. Cooperation in aviation security and regulatory practices was to be strengthened.

The British team met the Director General of PCAA and reviewed Pakistan's progress in aviation security measures, the DTF team reviewed CAA regulatory documents and operational institutions such as the Airport Security Force, Pakistan. Also reviewed the records of regulated agents involved in airport authority, airlines, catering and cargo.


Director General CAA warmly welcomed the DFT delegation and thanked the UK for its long-term support in aviation security, including special training programs and free advanced screening technology at Pakistan's airports. The DG emphasized that these efforts have strengthened the country's aviation security infrastructure and hoped to expand this cooperation further in the future.

DFTUK Secretary for Aviation Abdul Ghaffar praised Pakistan's efforts and particularly noted the success in the recent ICAO USAP CMA audit in which Pakistan achieved the highest score in the region. He reiterated the commitment of the British Department of Transport to support the mission of PCAA and expressed the desire to deepen the partnership in the aviation sector of the two countries.
