Islamabad (News International/ Pakistan News - 15th Dec, 2024 ) :Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has claimed that Russia has started deploying North Korean troops against the Ukrainian army in the Kursk region. He said this during his daily briefing on Saturday night. According to Zelensky, he has preliminary data, which indicates that Russia has started to seek the help of a large number of North Korean troops in its attacks.
According to the Ukrainian president, the North Korean troops are part of the joint forces and are especially active in Kursk.

After Russia and North Korea signed a historic defense treaty this summer, Washington and Seoul have accused Pyongyang of sending more than 10,000 troops to help Moscow.
The two US rivals have strengthened their military ties since Moscow invaded Ukraine in February 2022. Zelensky said last month that 11,000 North Korean troops were in Russia’s western Kursk region.
Meanwhile, Russian officials said firefighters were battling a blaze caused by a drone strike in the western Oryol region.
In response to Moscow’s attacks, Ukraine is targeting fuel depots in Russia, which are disrupting its electricity generation network. The Ukrainian military said its forces had attacked a major oil depot in Stalnoy Kon, about 165 kilometers (102 miles) into Russian territory. It is one of Russia’s largest terminals and is crucial to Russia’s “military-industrial complex.”
The governor of the Oryol region, Andrey Klychkov, said on Telegram that a fire had broken out at a fuel infrastructure facility in Stalnoy Kon after a “massive drone attack,” and efforts to bring it under control were ongoing on Sunday.
Ukraine has regularly attacked military and energy infrastructure facilities in Russia in response to Russian attacks on its infrastructure. Kiev’s general staff said Russia had launched 132 drone strikes overnight, of which 130 were shot down or failed to reach their targets. The Russian military said on Saturday that it had shot down 60 Ukrainian drones overnight.
