Addressing the opening ceremony, Energy Sector Expert Engineer Irfan Ahmed said that an environmentally friendly energy transition is taking place, electricity is being generated from wind and solar energy, there are many wind power generation projects in Sindh and wind power is also cheap. Rawalpindi (News International Newspaper Latest. December 06, 2024) Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf leader Omar Ayub says that Shahbaz Sharif, Maryam Nawaz, IG Punjab and DPO Attock are responsible for my arrest. I was illegally detained at Adiala Jail Chowki yesterday. I have a protective bail from the Peshawar High Court. Talking to the media after the court approved bail and ordered my release in Rawalpindi, the PTI leader said that today the court asked the police, what authority do you have to arrest me if I have bail from the High Court.

The police had no answer to the court’s question. I was arrested yesterday in a false case, on which the court has approved my bail. I was transferred from Adiala Jail to Police Lines at night.


They were also kept in illegal detention in the police lines. It may be recalled that earlier, the Anti-Terrorism Court Rawalpindi had ordered the release of five leaders of the PTI, including Omar Ayub and Raja Basharat, who were arrested from Adiala Jail last night.


The court, while declaring these arrests illegal, had issued contempt of court notices to five police officers and also strongly reprimanded the police officers for arresting them despite having interim bails. PTI leaders Omar Ayub, Raja Basharat and Ahmed Chatha were produced before the Rawalpindi Anti-Terrorism Court. ATC Judge Amjad Ali Shah heard the cases, while Babar Awan and other lawyers appeared before the court on behalf of the PTI.


During the hearing, the court expressed its anger over the arrest of opposition leader Omar Ayub and other PTI leaders and said in its remarks that why were they arrested despite being granted bail by the Peshawar High Court. Later, the special anti-terrorism court declared the arrest of PTI leaders illegal and issued contempt of court notices to five police officers, including President Baroni Circle Nabeel Khokhar, SHO President Baroni Aizaz Azeem Saqib Tayyab. The court also issued orders not to arrest any accused within the 500-yard limits of the jail during the hearing at Adiala Jail.
