The High Court directed the Interior Minister to contact the PTI leadership regarding law and order. The protesters violated the law by entering the red zone of Islamabad instead of refuge.
The Interior Ministry says that violent protesters targeted officers on duty during the march from Peshawar to the Red Zone. The protesters used weapons including steel slingshots, stun grenades, tear gas shells and nail-studded sticks, etc. The violent protests made full use of the resources of the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government. Trained militants and illegal Afghan nationals were also involved in the PTI’s violent protests. The Interior Ministry said that violent protesters attacked security forces and set several police vehicles on fire. The Pakistan Army was deployed in Islamabad under Article 245 of the Constitution.
