Islamabad (News International / Pakistan News - 01 December 2024) The Interior Ministry has claimed that the police and Rangers did not use live bullets to disperse the violent crowd, the Pakistan Army did not have any direct confrontation with the violent crowd, nor was it deployed to control the rioters. According to a press release issued by the Interior Ministry, on November 21, the Islamabad High Court directed the federal government to maintain law and order at all costs. The High Court directed the Interior Minister to contact the PTI leadership regarding law and order. In view of the visit of the President of Belarus and a high-level Chinese delegation, the PTI was asked to postpone the protest several times. PTI was suggested a place of refuge for its insistence on continuing the protest. Despite extraordinary privileges, including meetings with the founder, the PTI violated court orders. The protesters violated the law by entering the red zone of Islamabad instead of refuge.
The Interior Ministry says that violent protesters targeted officers on duty during the march from Peshawar to the Red Zone. The protesters used weapons including steel slingshots, stun grenades, tear gas shells and nail-studded sticks, etc. The violent protests made full use of the resources of the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government. Trained militants and illegal Afghan nationals were also involved in the PTI’s violent protests. These 1,500 hardliners were directly under the direct command of fugitive fugitive Murad Saeed, who was also with them.
The statement said that the group attacked law enforcement officials using militant tactics, cleared the roadblocks with the help of provincial government machinery and cleared the way for other miscreants. Law enforcement officials showed extreme restraint with the violent protesters. Three Rangers officials on duty at a check post in Islamabad were martyred by a vehicle. The violent protesters also martyred a policeman. 232 law enforcement officials were also injured by the miscreants.
The Interior Ministry said that violent protesters attacked security forces and set several police vehicles on fire. The Pakistan Army was deployed in Islamabad under Article 245 of the Constitution. The purpose of the Pakistan Army's deployment was to secure important installations, protect foreign diplomats and ensure a safe environment for important delegations visiting. The police and Rangers did not use live bullets to disperse this violent crowd. It should be noted that the Pakistan Army did not have any direct confrontation with this violent crowd, nor was it deployed to control the rioters. During the dispersal process, armed guards accompanying the leadership and armed supporters of the protesters opened indiscriminate fire. In these self-inflicted violent situations, the PTI leadership chose to flee instead of taking control of the situation. Immediately after the protesters fled the area, the federal interior and information ministers also visited the affected area and held a press conference. In a press release, the Interior Ministry alleged that the PTI has started a systematic propaganda on social media. In the propaganda, a nefarious attempt is being made to put the responsibility for the alleged deaths on the law enforcement agencies. The administration of major hospitals in the federal capital also denied the report of deaths. During the fabricated social media campaign, old and false clips created with artificial intelligence are also being used. Unfortunately, some elements of the foreign media have also fallen victim to this propaganda. Ministers, government officials, police officials and the Commissioner Islamabad have repeatedly explained the real situation with certified evidence.
The Interior Ministry also said that law enforcement officials risked their lives to protect Pakistani citizens, PTI's social media campaign is promoting chaos and division in Pakistan, such elements at home and abroad will be held accountable under relevant laws, the Chief Minister of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa used the provincial assembly to make baseless and provocative statements against institutions, 39 deadly weapons, including 18 automatic weapons, have been recovered from violent protesters, and more than three dozen foreign mercenaries are among the arrested miscreants.
The Interior Ministry further said that along with the setting of jail vans on fire, 11 vehicles of law enforcement agencies were also damaged. According to initial estimates, hundreds of millions have been lost during the violent protests. The indirect losses to the economy due to these violent protests have been estimated at Rs 192 billion per day. The proud people of Pakistan, including Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, reject this kind of violent politics, baseless allegations and malicious propaganda. The entire Pakistani nation stands united in its desire for peace and stability in the country.
