Ras Al Khaimah (UrduPoint News International/ Pakistan Point News - 30th December 2024) Two people, including a Pakistani female pilot, were killed in a plane crash in the United Arab Emirates. According to Emirati media, a small plane belonging to the Island Aviation Club crashed on the coast of Ras Al Khaimah, killing two people, including a 26-year-old Indian doctor, Sulaiman Al Majid, while another 29-year-old Pakistani female pilot also lost her life in the accident.
It has been reported that the accident occurred near the Cove Rotana Hotel near the beach at 2 pm, shortly after the plane took off. The General Civil Aviation Authority (GCAA) confirmed the accident on Sunday and expressed condolences to the families and relatives of the victims and said that an investigation is underway to find out the cause of the air crash. Our investigation department has received the accident report. The teams working on it and the relevant authorities are continuing to investigate the incident.
It is learned that Dr. Suleiman had rented a small plane for tourism. His family, including his father, mother and younger brother, were present at the aviation club to witness the experience. Suleiman's younger brother was supposed to take the next flight, but before that, the plane crashed and made an emergency landing, resulting in injuries to both the pilot and the passenger. They were rushed to the hospital where they died and passed away during treatment. Dr. Suleiman Al-Majid's father said that we were waiting for the New Year as a family. We had planned to celebrate the New Year together this time, but now our lives have been shattered and it feels like time has stopped for us because Suleiman was the light of our lives. Now we don't know how to move forward without him. It is being reported that Dr. Suleman was a clinical fellow at the County Durham and Darlington NHS Foundation Trust in the United Kingdom, where he served as honorary secretary and later co-chair of the British Medical Association's Northern Resident Doctors Committee, where he campaigned for the restoration of salaries and the reclassification of junior doctors as resident doctors.
