The 13 million people living in occupied Kashmir have been under a strict siege by Indian troops for 1,951 days since August 5, 2019.
Muzaffarabad (News International / Pakistan News - NNI. 10 December 2024) On the occasion of International Human Rights Day, a protest demonstration was organized in the capital against Indian oppression and tyranny in occupied Kashmir under the leadership of Pasban Hurriyat. The United Nations and international human rights organizations were demanded to take notice of Indian war crimes and release the prisoners.
According to the details, on the occasion of December 10, a protest demonstration was organized in front of the Supreme Court in the capital against the ongoing Indian military terrorism in occupied Kashmir under the leadership of Pasban Hurriyat Jammu and Kashmir, in which a large number of women, elders and youth participated. Citizens raised black flags and protested against the Indian government against the worst human rights violations in occupied Kashmir.
The Kashmiri protesters held banners and placards on which were written demands from the United Nations and international human rights organizations to take action against Indian oppression and tyranny in Kashmir. The protesters were chanting slogans like "Kashmir, which was soaked in blood, is our Kashmir", "Release Kashmiri prisoners", "Abolish black laws", "Stop human rights violations", "Answer the oppressors, make them pay for the bloodshed".
Addressing the protest demonstration on the occasion of International Human Rights Day, Convener of All Parties Hurriyat Conference Azad Kashmir Branch Ghulam Muhammad Safi, Chairman Pasban Hurriyat Uzair Ahmed Ghazali, freedom-loving leaders Shamima Shaal, Mushtaqul Islam, Usman Ali Hashim, PPP leader Shaukat Javed Mir, social leaders Syed Asif Gilani, Mehnaz Qureshi, Riaz Awan, Muhammad Aslam Inqilabi, Faisal Farooq, Muhammad Altaf Minhas, Imtiaz Aziz Khan, Muhammad Fayyaz Khan and other leaders said that today is a moment of reflection for the world that one crore and three million people living in occupied Kashmir have been under continuous siege by Indian troops for 1951 days since August 5, 2019. The entire occupied state has been turned into a prison. The speakers said that India is violating all the basic human, political, social and religious rights of the Kashmiri people under the guise of so-called democracy. He said that since 1989, the Indian army has martyred more than 1.2 million Kashmiri citizens, including children, women, elderly and youth. He added that the Indian army has disappeared more than 9,500 Kashmiri citizens for many years.
Of which, thousands have been martyred in torture chambers and buried in unmarked graves. Due to Indian terrorism in occupied Kashmir, more than 120,000 children have become orphans and 24,000 women have become widows. He added that due to the violent actions and cruelty of Indian soldiers, 2700 Kashmiri women are forced to live a life of semi-widowhood.
The speakers said that the Narendra Modi-led Bharatiya Janata Party government is committing genocide against the Muslim majority by martyring Kashmiri youth in fake encounters in a planned manner. The speakers added that civil liberties are being trampled upon by implementing black laws POTA, TADA, UAPA, AFSPA, PSA in occupied Kashmir. In the address, the speakers said that India is brazenly breaking the mountains of oppression and tyranny on the Kashmiri people in front of the whole world. The speakers demanded that the United Nations play its role for a just solution to the Kashmir issue. They demanded that international human rights organizations Amnesty International and Asia Watch put pressure on the Indian government to release Kashmiri prisoners in Indian jails. Kashmiri leaders said that it is the responsibility of the world to take notice of the encroachment of state and civilian lands, confiscation of properties and demolition in occupied Kashmir. Protesters organized by Pasban Hurriyat Jammu and Kashmir held a protest demonstration and rally in the capital on the occasion of International Human Rights Day.
