Punjab government decides to introduce business card scheme

 Loans of up to Rs 1 million will be provided to promote small businesses.

Lahore (News International / Pakistan  News - 07th December, 2024) The Punjab government has decided to introduce a business card scheme in the province. According to details, in a meeting chaired by Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz, it was agreed upon to introduce a business card scheme for medium businesses, under which the Chief Minister decided to introduce a business card scheme for the promotion of small businesses in Punjab. Loans ranging from one to one million rupees will be given under the business card scheme.


It has been reported that the meeting agreed to allocate separate zones for small and medium industries in big cities, a decision was made in principle to provide interest-free loans for small and medium loans to promote commercial activities, a proposal has been made to provide loans of up to three crore rupees under the Chief Minister's easy business financing scheme, the Chief Minister has sought a comprehensive plan for the small and medium loan scheme.


It is learnt that the meeting also reviewed the proposal to provide loans on preferential basis to selected commercial sectors. In this scheme, a grace period of 3 months will be given after receiving the first installment of the loan. Under the scheme, the loan will have to be repaid for 5 years. The business card will not be able to be used for payment in 10 areas including restaurants. Nawaz Sharif will be able to get preferential loans for IT startups in IT City. In addition, Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz formally inaugurated the free solar panel scheme for one lakh consumers of Punjab. Consumers of Punjab can apply for free solar panels at home through SMS or online portal. Under the scheme, solar systems will be provided free of cost to consumers using up to two hundred units of electricity per month. The Provincial Secretary Energy, while briefing the Chief Minister of Punjab about the CM Punjab Free Solar Panel Scheme, said that under the CM Punjab Free Solar Panel Scheme, one lakh solar systems will be installed throughout the year, free solar systems will be provided to consumers across the province who consume up to 200 units of electricity per month, free 550-watt solar systems will be provided to 52,019 consumers who consume 100 units of electricity per month, and free 1,100-watt solar systems will be provided to consumers who consume up to 200 units of electricity per month. It has been learned that Punjab consumers can register for the free solar panel scheme by sending an SMS to 8800. Verification will be done using the reference number and CNIC number listed on the consumer's monthly bill. In addition, registration for the CM Free Solar Panel Scheme can also be applied online on the portal "cmsolarscheme.punjab.gov.pk". Here too, verification will be done using the reference number and CNIC number listed on the consumer's monthly bill. A computerized draw will be conducted for transparency in the CM Punjab Free Solar Panel Scheme.
