Washington (News international New - 18 December 2024) US State Department Spokesperson Matthew Miller has said that the questions raised on the elections in Pakistan should be answered, there should be a transparent investigation into the electoral irregularities in Pakistan, our position on the electoral irregularities in Pakistan is clear, during the press briefing, the US State Department spokesperson said that whether it is Pakistan or any other country in the world, America’s position is the same.
I have discussed this many times and made it clear that there should be a full investigation into the electoral irregularities. Answers should be found under the principle of the rule of law. Matthew Miller also said that we have discussed this before regarding the irregularities in the Pakistani elections. We want the rule of law to be established and the questions that are being raised on the Pakistani elections to be answered and there should be a transparent investigation into these elections.
It should be noted that earlier, while speaking, US State Department Spokesperson Matthew Miller had urged the early completion of the investigation into the alleged rigging in the general elections to be held in Pakistan on February 8. The United States had demanded an investigation into the alleged rigging in the general elections to be held in Pakistan. US State Department Spokesperson Matthew Miller had made it clear during a press briefing in Washington that the investigation into the reported electoral irregularities should be completed as soon as possible.
When asked about the formation of a new government in Pakistan, he replied that the formation of the new government was under the control of the Pakistani leadership and that the United States was not a party to it. It was not something he would comment on. Matthew Miller had said that he wanted to see the government move forward in a way that reflected the will of the Pakistani people. Speaking a few days ago, the US State Department Spokesperson said that protests around the world, including in Pakistan, should have been peaceful.
The Pakistani government should have dealt with the protesters with respect. They stood with Pakistan in the fight against terrorism and extremism. The US State Department spokesperson further said during a press briefing in Washington that everyone has a constitutional right to protest, but protests around the world, including in Pakistan, should be peaceful. Asked by a journalist whether the Biden administration planned to provide modern weapons to Pakistan before the transfer of power, Matthew Miller said that he had nothing to announce at this time. We stand with Pakistan in the fight against terrorism and violent extremism. It should be recalled that earlier, the US State Department had said that Pakistan had suffered immense losses in terrorist attacks. We condemn terrorist attacks in Pakistan. Pakistan’s efforts against terrorism are commendable. A series of brutal attacks against the Pakistani people were ongoing.
