Seven Kashmiris indicted in two false cases in Doda

Indian authorities are using notorious agencies like NIA, SIA and Counter Intelligence Kashmir (CIK) to suppress and silence Kashmiris.

Sunday 15 December 2024

Jammu (News International / Pakistan News - NNI. 15th December, 2024) The occupying authorities in illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir have filed a chargesheet against seven Kashmiris in two fake cases in Doda district. According to Kashmir Media Service, Doda Senior Superintendent of Police Sandeep Mehta confirmed that a chargesheet has been filed in the NIA court. The accused are accused of providing food and shelter to the Mujahideen.

Indian authorities often make such allegations to justify their oppressive actions and seize the property of innocent Kashmiris. The first case, which was registered at the Gandoha police station earlier this year, named three people, Safdar Ali, Mubashir Hussain and Sajjad Ahmed, all residents of Tanta Kahara area.

They are facing charges under various sections of the Indian Penal Code and the black law of the Prevention of Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act.

In the second case registered at Bhaderwah police station, four other accused including Mohammad Rafi and Mohammad Amin Butt have been named. They have been booked under the UAPA and the Indian Arms Act. The Indian authorities are using notorious agencies like NIA, SIA and Counter Intelligence Kashmir (CIK) to suppress and silence Kashmiris.

Raids and investigations have become a daily routine in occupied Jammu and Kashmir, targeting people from Hurriyat leaders to journalists, human rights activists and ordinary citizens. The aim of these raids is to intimidate those opposing the Bharatiya Janata Party’s agenda in the region. Prominent Kashmiri leaders and activists are being framed in false cases for their role in the freedom movement, while pro-freedom voices are facing persecution under the guise of legal action.

The Modi government’s misuse of these agencies reflects its dismay at the unwavering resistance of Kashmiris. Freedom-loving Kashmiris are being imprisoned for their political views rather than for any crime. Local and international observers have been criticizing the occupying authorities for registering false cases and detaining innocent Kashmiris. They consider the Jawan operations as part of a broader strategy to crush the spirit of freedom. International human rights organizations have been urged to intervene and free people from these illegal detentions and false cases that have become a hallmark of India’s oppressive policies in the occupied territory.
