Muzaffarabad (News International/ Pakistan Point News - NNI. 10th December, 2024) Director of the Solid Waste Management Project Syed Shakeel Gilani has said that the project, which has been in the cold storage for a long time, has finally been completed by Mayor Baldia Syed Sikandar Nisar Gilani and his team. After the day-to-day efforts of the current government, including the Mayor Baldia Muzaffarabad, the Prime Minister of Azad Kashmir, the Minister for Local Government and other authorities, to completely dispose of garbage, including health and sanitation, the Solid Waste Management Project has been approved for the Capital City Muzaffarabad to dispose of more than 75 tons of garbage on a daily basis, which is a very welcome development.
The Baldia Uzma, which has been working hard for the approval of this project for years, has finally achieved success.
Syed Shakeel Gilani expressed these views while talking to the media exclusively yesterday. While answering various questions, he said that in the year 2017-18, the Neelum Jhelum Hydro Project Company had provided ample funds to eliminate environmental pollution and other problems in the areas around the city of Aqtar.
Work on which continued and finally the current government, after the efforts of Mayor Syed Sikandar Nisar Gilani and his team that was active day and night, approved the project estimated at Rs 37 crore and the project was formally launched. For which machinery including vehicles, dust bins, recycling plants, etc. will be purchased and then after that, the city will be cleaned and its beauty and cleanliness will be ensured by collecting garbage on a daily basis in 36 wards of the capital.
Syed Shakeel Gilani said that Prime Minister of Azad Kashmir Chaudhry Anwarul Haq, Minister for Local Government and Rural Development Raja Faisal Mumtaz Rathore, Chief Secretary Azad Kashmir Mr. Dawood Breach, Additional Chief Secretary Development, Secretary Local Government and Rural Development, Mayor Municipal Corporation Syed Sikandar Nisar Gilani along with his team of councilors have played an excellent role in getting this project approved.
Under this project, agreements are being made with various companies for recycling so that the garbage generated on a daily basis can be disposed of by purchasing and installing a recycling plant. He has requested full cooperation from the leaders of political, social, religious, commercial, public, academic and literary circles, civil society leaders, especially the residents of the streets, for the success of this project so that we can all make our city a model of cleanliness.
