Islamabad (News International - 24 December 2024) Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif says that there is no justification for sanctions on Pakistani institutions, Pakistan’s nuclear program is 100 percent for defensive purposes, our defense program is not for aggression at all, US sanctions are unjustified, no compromise will be made on Pakistan’s nuclear program, while addressing the federal cabinet meeting, the Prime Minister said that there is no justification for sanctions on the National Defense Complex and other institutions.
Pakistan will continue to take strong steps to defend itself. We will not allow nefarious conspiracies against Pakistan to succeed. Pakistan’s nuclear program is a program for the country’s 240 million people on which we will not compromise.
He said that Pakistan has absolutely no intention that our nuclear system be based on aggressive intentions. It is 100 percent defensive. If any aggression is carried out against Pakistan, we will only defend ourselves.
The Foreign Office has given a coherent response, but one thing is certain: Pakistan’s nuclear program belongs to the Pakistani people and is dearer to them than their own hearts. There will be no compromise on this program. The entire nation is united and united in its commitment to this program. Fateha was offered in the federal cabinet meeting to pay homage to the martyrs. Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, while addressing the federal cabinet meeting, further said that the nation will not be able to reap the fruits of the country’s development until terrorism is completely eradicated. We will not sit with China until the terrorists are crushed.
Terrorism incidents have increased in the past few months. A few days ago, 17 officials were martyred in an attack by Khawarijis. The fruits of economic stability cannot be achieved without completely eliminating terrorism. Terrorism is being vigorously combated. We will not sit with China until terrorism is completely eradicated from the country. He said that we will not allow nefarious efforts against Pakistan to succeed.
Those who are attacking Islamabad should pay attention to the situation in Parachinar. On the proposal of Pekar, I formed a committee in consultation and our first meeting with PTI was held yesterday. I am sure that both the negotiation committees will find a solution that is in the best interest of Pakistan. He said that the purpose of the negotiations is to subordinate personal interests to national interests, if there is a discussion keeping the national interest in mind, unity will be promoted.
There is no doubt about anyone's intention. I hope that both the parties will take the best decisions in the national interest, which will help us both take decisions in the best interest of Pakistan, which will benefit the country and the nation immensely and economic stability will be further strengthened. He said that we should keep national interests in mind instead of personal preferences. Such measures will keep the wheels of the country's economy moving.
I hope that the meeting of the government and PTI committees will be fruitful. The Prime Minister told the cabinet that the meeting with Bangladesh's Chief Advisor Dr. Yunus in Cairo was good. The Bangladeshi leadership has expressed good spirit, Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar will visit Bangladesh in February, there have also been fruitful meetings with the presidents of Indonesia and Turkey. He also said that the interest rate has come down from 15% to 13% while inflation is also below 5%, which is the lowest since 2018. Similarly, exports, remittances and IT exports are increasing. Pakistani shipments used to be scanned 100% in Bangladesh, which has now been abolished. Similarly, Pakistanis used to be screened at a separate desk at Dhaka airport, which has now been abolished. These are positive indicators from Bangladesh.
