Washington (News International New - 03 December 2024) US President-elect Donald Trump has warned Hamas that if the hostages in the Gaza Strip are not released before his inauguration on January 20, those responsible will have to face serious consequences. According to the US broadcaster, Donald Trump said in a post on the social networking site “Truth” that the hostages should be released immediately. He said that whoever is responsible for the hostages will be given a full answer and this answer has never been given before by anyone in the history of the United States.


The statement of the newly elected US president comes at a time when the Israeli military said in a statement that a hostage in Gaza was killed in the attacks, who is an American-born Israeli soldier. Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and President Isaac Herzog expressed their condolences to the family of hostage Omar Neutra over the death of his family and expressed their determination to return his body along with the other remaining hostages in Gaza.

The newly elected US president said that everyone is talking about the hostages who were kidnapped in a violent and inhumane way, but there has been only talk and no action. He said that try to understand the fact that if the hostages are not released by the time I take office, those in the Middle East who have committed atrocities against humanity will have to face the consequences.

The newly elected US president did not explain in his post what kind of actions he would take in his government if the hostages were not released by the time he takes office. Hamas announced the death of 33 Israeli prisoners held hostage by it last evening. Most of them were killed in Israeli military bombings on various areas of the Gaza Strip since October 2023. In a video clip released on "Telegram", Hamas said that 33 Israeli prisoners were killed and some went missing due to Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and his stubbornness. On October 7, 2023, Hamas carried out an extraordinary attack on Israel, which resulted in the death of 1,208 people. According to official figures from the Israeli government, most of those killed were civilians. During the attack, Hamas seized 251 Israeli settlements. 97 people are still in the Gaza Strip, of whom 35 have died according to the Israeli military. Earlier, in November 2023, about 105 prisoners were released as part of an agreement, including 81 Israelis, 23 Thais and one Filipino citizen.
