Islamabad (UrduPoint News International/ Pakistan Point News - DW Urdu - 01 January 2025) A statement from NOLA Ready, an emergency preparedness program in New Orleans, said, “The city’s 8th District is currently investigating a mass shooting incident involving a large vehicle that plowed into a crowd at Canal and Bourbon Streets and then plowed into the crowd.
10 people have been killed and 30 injured in the incident.”
Emergency management officials did not initially give the exact time of the incident. The area where the attack took place is known as the French Quarter.

FBI statement
The FBI said Wednesday that investigators have found a suspected improvised explosive device at the scene of a truck plowing into a crowd in New Orleans. "We are working to confirm whether it is a viable device," Special Agent in Charge Alithia Duncan told a news conference.
