Srinagar (News International / Pakistan Point New - NNI. 26th November, 2024) Indian forces in illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir have arrested dozens of innocent Kashmiri youth during large-scale cordon and search operations. According to Kashmir Media Service, the Indian Army’s Rashtriya Rifles, the paramilitary Central Reserve Police Force and the Special Operations Group of the police conducted joint operations in several districts including Rajouri, Udhampur, Kupwara and Baramulla.
In addition to the arrests, the troops seized several documents and subjected residents to rigorous interrogation. Additional Indian forces were deployed in Srinagar and new checkpoints were set up and search operations were intensified in the upper areas of the city.
At least 30 people were arrested under the black law Public Safety Act and shifted to jails outside the Kashmir Valley. Indian agencies are keeping a close watch on the activities and movements of the Kashmiri people, due to which the situation remains tense.
The All Parties Hurriyat Conference has strongly condemned the increasing crackdowns and arrests, terming them as political vendetta aimed at punishing the Kashmiri people for their resistance against India’s illegal occupation of their motherland. In a statement issued in Srinagar, All Parties Hurriyat Conference spokesperson Advocate Abdul Rashid Minhas expressed regret that Indian forces and intelligence agencies are targeting civilians to create an atmosphere of fear and terror in the occupied territory.
The spokesperson said that the Kashmiri people, who are determined to achieve their right to self-determination, will not be intimidated by these cruel tactics. Senior leader of the All Parties Hurriyat Conference Mirwaiz Umar Farooq has strongly condemned the killing of four Muslim youth by the police during the so-called survey of a Mughal-era mosque in the Indian state of Uttar Pradesh. Mirwaiz Umar Farooq said in a statement issued in Srinagar that the lives of minorities in India have become unbearable under the Narendra Modi regime.
Irfan Ahmed, a 17-year-old student of Class 12, was found dead under mysterious circumstances in the hostel of Army Public School in Rajouri.
