Flights were diverted to nearby airports while all passengers were safely evacuated from the plane after emergency landing.

According to AFP, Qantas Airlines, the owner of the plane, did not say the number of passengers on board, but the Boeing 737 plane has a capacity of 174 passengers. According to the report, Qantas flight QF 520 departed for Brisbane shortly after takeoff when an unusual sound was heard in its right engine, upon which the aircraft turned back and landed at Sydney Airport.


Following the emergency landing, Qantas engineers confirmed the engine had failed after an initial engine inspection. Air Services Australia's National Operations Management Center imposed a 47-minute ground stop at Sydney Airport to ensure That the plane can land as soon as possible. On the emergency landing of the plane, the passengers on board expressed their happiness by clapping their hands. Qantas has announced further investigations into the incident. According to a spokesperson for Sydney Airport, airport operations have been restored after 11 domestic flights were canceled and four diverted due to the incident on Friday evening.
