March in Britain on World War II Martyrs' Day led by a Pakistani priest

 Tuesday, November 19, 2024

Karachi (news international Newspaper Latest - Online. November 19, 2024) A march was held in St. Phillips and St. James Church Ratby on the Great War Martyrs Day in Great Britain under the leadership of a Pakistani priest. He led the ceremony, gave a message to remember the sacrifices of the martyrs, and reiterated his commitment to promote peace.

The annual march led by Pastor Rafat Javed passed through its designated routes and ended at the martyrs' memorial. On this occasion, Pastor Rafat Javed said in his message that today we have come together to remember all those who have died. Martyrs in the two world wars, those who have since lost their lives in various conflicts around the world, and those who are still victims of ongoing conflicts between nations.

For some, this time will be personal, filled with pain, suffering, and loneliness, while for others it will simply be a reality known through images, stories, or memories passed down through generations of family and media coverage. Even if these memories are not personal, they are just as painful and disturbing. As we remember the sacrifices of these countless people, we come together not to glorify war, but to acknowledge its loss, said Pastor Rafaat Javed.

It is our aim to remember the loss of human life and the painful impact on all parties involved. Today, on this commemoration we also pledge to God that we will be peacemakers. Pastor Rifaat Javed said in his message that Jesus Christ requested all his followers to live their lives in such a way that they can be protectors and builders of peace.

Today we collectively recognize the value of our humanity, both past and present, in the light of Christ. Pastor Rifat Javed said that the need for change in people is not a new concept. The prophets of the Old Testament constantly exhorted the people around them to change their ways and follow God's commands through Moses.

He said that on such occasions the reality of our faith often collides with this harsh, unforgiving and merciless world. When we reflect on the horrors endured by those we remember today, we need to question the complexities of human nature and the slow pace of change and forgiveness. Especially when we see that people are still on the path of destruction today. #
