Pakistan ready to play final of U-19 Triangular Series

Dubai (News International / Pakistan Point New - NNI. 25th November, 2024) Pakistan will face Afghanistan in the final of the ongoing tri-nation tournament in Dubai tomorrow (Tuesday). The match will start at 10.30 am Pakistan time. In the seven-match series, both teams have played four matches each and both teams have won three matches and lost one each. The Pakistani team led by Saad Baig defeated Afghanistan by 13 runs in the match on November 20.
Earlier, Afghanistan, led by Mehboob Khan, had won their first match against Pakistan by 100 runs on November 15. Pakistan has won two of its matches against the host team, winning one match by 10 wickets and the other by 191 runs.
The opening pair of Shahzeb Khan and Usman Khan is in great form. Left-handed batsman Usman has scored 306 runs at an average of 102 in four matches, including a century and three half-centuries.
Shahzeb has scored 277 runs at an average of 92.33, including a century and two half-centuries in four matches. The two batsmen have shared two century partnerships while opening, including an unbeaten 192-run stand against the United Arab Emirates on November 13. In the bowling unit, fast bowlers Abdul Subhan, Ali Raza and Mohammad Ahmed took six wickets each, while Fahamul Haq took five wickets.
While Ali took four wickets for 57 runs. Mohammad Hassan Khan has been ruled out of the final as well as the upcoming ACC Under-19 Men’s Asia Cup, as the left-arm spinner injured his left ankle during a training session. Mohammad Hassan’s replacement will be announced later. Speaking to PCB Digital, Saad Baig said that we have performed well in the tournament, and now we will perform well against Afghanistan in the final. He added that the coaches have been able to win all the matches due to the strong guidance of the players. He also said that this series has also given the players the confidence to perform well in the Asia Cup. The Pakistan Under-19 squad for the tri-series includes Saad Baig (captain, wicketkeeper), Abdul Subhan, Ali Raza, Fahamul Haq, Farhan Yousuf, Haroon Arshad, Mohammad Ahmed, Mohammad Huzaifa, Mohammad Riazullah, Naveed Ahmed Khan, Shahzeb Khan, Tayyab Arif, Omar Zeb and Usman Khan.
