Lahore (News International Latest News. December 12, 2024) Mohammad Akhlaq, the wicketkeeper-batsman of the Dolphins team in the Champions Cup, has revealed that he has received an offer to play professional cricket in the United States. However, he stressed that he intends to play all his cricket for Pakistan and Pakistan.
Talking about the offer, Mohammad Akhlaq said, “I have no intention of leaving Pakistan and playing professional cricket in any other country.
My cricket is for Pakistan and I want to play here.”
Mohammad Akhlaq also highlighted the importance of fitness in the current era and said that he has always focused on maintaining good fitness, and continues to work to improve it.
He added that fitness is very important and while I have always maintained a good level of fitness, I am constantly working to improve it further.
When it comes to playing red-ball and white-ball cricket, Mohammad Akhlaq said that he approaches both formats with the same mindset which has led to success. However, he puts in extra effort to improve his technique for red-ball cricket. He added that playing red-ball cricket gives me the opportunity to experience different conditions and learn new shots which I can apply in white-ball cricket.
Mohammad Akhlaq also said about sharing wicket-keeping tips with Sarfaraz Ahmed, “We exchange a lot of wicket-keeping experience and I am working hard to improve my skills in this area.”
He further mentioned his recent performance for Pakistan in the Hong Kong Sixes where he showcased his skills and match-winning innings in the lower order during the recent red-ball and Global T20 formats.
He said that I have played some match-winning innings and I am always focused on performing wherever I get the opportunity.
On the challenges of getting a place in the team as a wicketkeeper, Akhlaq said, "It is difficult to make a place for a wicketkeeper in the team but I am constantly working hard, the PCB invites me to different camps and wherever I get an opportunity. My goal is to perform well."
