Opening ceremony of the 7th International Conference on Energy, Environment and Sustainable Development held at Mehran University

Lahore (News / Pakistan Point News - NNI. 04 February 2025) Speaker Punjab Assembly Malik Muhammad Ahmed Khan inaugurated a media hall equipped with modern facilities in the new assembly building. On this occasion, he said that the aim of establishing the media hall is to provide the best facilities to the journalist community so that they can fulfill their professional responsibilities in a better manner. At the inaugural ceremony, Speaker Malik Muhammad Ahmed Khan, while releasing the agenda regarding the first CPA conference, said that the largest CPA conference in the history of Pakistan will be held in the Punjab Assembly on February 7 and 8, in which smog, terrorism, peace, and other important issues of the region will be discussed.


The first Asia and Southeast Asia Regional CPA Conference in the Punjab Assembly will pave a new path for global parliamentary cooperation.


This conference is a golden opportunity to promote Pakistan’s parliamentary identity and global parliamentary cooperation. Organizing the CPA conference is a great honor not only for Punjab but for the whole of Pakistan. More than 100 parliamentarians from 20 countries will participate in this international event, including 13 speakers, 4 deputy speakers and a chairman.


.The agenda of this conference, held in the historic house of the Punjab Assembly, will include the topics of parliamentary democracy, transparent legislation and accountability. Delegates from Sri Lanka, Maldives, Britain, Zambia, Malaysia and other countries will participate in this conference. On this occasion, Speaker Malik Muhammad Ahmed Khan said that we have opened the assembly to the public and increased the facilities.


The construction of the media hall is a link in this chain to provide a comfortable and suitable environment to journalists. Supporting freedom of the press, he said that respect for freedom of expression is necessary, however, protecting the dignity of the state and the honor of institutions is equally important. Speaker Malik Muhammad Ahmed Khan, while talking about the environmental problems of Punjab, said that Lahore is going through a severe pollution crisis and the government has allocated ten billion rupees to solve it. We will benefit from the experiences of global models such as China and Los Angeles. Speaking at the ceremony, President Press Club Lahore Arshad Ansari said that Malik Muhammad Ahmed Khan has fulfilled the long-standing demand of journalists and has always supported them. The ceremony was also attended by honorable members of the assembly Zakia Shahnawaz, Sara Ahmed, Ahmed Khan Leghari, Secretary General Punjab Assembly Chaudhry Aamir Habib, President, Secretary Punjab Assembly Press Gallery Committee Khawaja Naseer Ahmed, Adnan Sheikh and other dignitaries.
