Islamabad (News International Newspaper Latest. November 28, 2024) The federal government is likely to impose Governor’s Rule in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. The initial period of imposing Governor’s Rule will be 6 months. The final decision is expected in a day or two. The government has decided to take the PPP into confidence on the issue of imposing Governor’s Rule in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. According to media reports, the federal cabinet meeting was chaired by Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif. Consultations were held on the issue of imposing Governor’s Rule in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. Legal experts including the Attorney General gave a briefing on the issue of imposing Governor’s Rule. In the meeting, a majority of the cabinet members supported the imposition of Governor’s Rule. The cabinet members said that the provincial government justified the imposition of Governor’s Rule.

It was informed in the briefing that provincial departments and employees were used, while the provincial government used provincial resources for the sit-in.

It should be noted that earlier, Federal Minister for Planning Ahsan Iqbal also said that people from terrorist organizations were involved in the PTI protest. The government had shown restraint on the issue. He said that there was an option of Governor’s rule in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

Talking to Dunya News, the federal minister had said that the provincial Chief Minister Ali Amin Ganda was attacking the federal government. He had said that there should be a charge sheet against the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government, in my personal opinion, the Prime Minister and the cabinet can file a charge sheet. There is an option of Governor’s Rules in the constitution. He had also said that decisive action would have to be taken in the federal cabinet meeting.

The government had the option of Governor’s rule. The protesters had fired on police and security personnel. Bushra Bibi wanted the bodies. The founder of PTI was not in the custody of the government. The courts had the authority to release Imran Khan. He had also said that the government had shown extreme restraint during the PTI sit-in. He also said that the game could not continue anymore.

We should have taken Pakistan towards peace and stability now. The options that the government has cannot be told to the media. Earlier, traders from Islamabad and Rawalpindi had also demanded the imposition of Governor’s rule in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. Due to the protests of PTI and government obstacles, business life in the twin cities of Islamabad and Pindi has been suspended. Due to which there is concern among the traders and they have demanded the government to impose Governor’s rule in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province to restore law and order.

Former President FPCCI Zubair Tufail said in a statement issued by him that the government should take immediate steps to restore law and order and business. He said that the business community will support whatever step the government takes, including control of KP. Business across the country was losing billions of rupees due to the daily closure of roads. It may be recalled that earlier, Governor Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Faisal Karim Kundi had hinted at imposing Governor’s rule in the province and said that there was no harm in imposing Governor’s rule if things went beyond the limit.

Faisal Karim Kundi, while talking on a private TV program, said that he had met Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif yesterday, in which he discussed his visit to the US as well as the affairs of the province. There was no discussion about imposing Governor's rule in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa in this meeting with the Prime Minister. Faisal Karim Kundi said that if things went too far, there was no harm in imposing the Governor's rule for the sake of the country and democracy.
