Bulawayo (News International Latest Newspaper - December 1, 2024) Pakistan defeated Zimbabwe by 57 runs in the first T20 International match of the series to take a 0-1 lead in the series.
In the match being played in Bulawayo, Zimbabwe, Pakistan won the toss and elected to bat. Pakistan scored 165 runs for the loss of 4 wickets in the stipulated 20 overs. Umair Yousuf and Saim Ayub opened the Pakistani innings.
Pakistan suffered its first loss at a total score of 18 when Umair Yousuf was caught out after scoring 16 runs, Saim Ayub returned to the pavilion after scoring 24 runs on a total score of 57. Usman Khan scored 39 runs on a total score of 91, while captain Salman Ali Agha scored 13 runs on a total score of 100. Tayyab Tahir remained not out after scoring 39 and Irfan Khan remained not out after scoring 27 runs.
Richard Ngarwa, Sikandar Raza, Wellington Masakadza and Ryan Burrell took 1 wicket each for Zimbabwe.
Earlier, while talking at the toss, Salman Ali Agha said on a question that he will bat first because the wicket looks exactly like the last ODI. He said that the wicket looks good for batting, we will try to score big. Salman Ali Agha said that we want to win the series and will give a chance to the young players because this is only a youth series.
Zimbabwe captain Sikandar Raza said that if we had won the toss, we would have batted first, he said that batting and bowling do not matter, we will try to play good cricket. Salman Ali Agha is leading the Pakistan team while other players include Saim Ayub, Umair Bin Yousuf, Usman Khan, Tayyab Tahir in the team, Muhammad Irfan Khan, Jehandad Khan, Abbas Afridi, Haris Rauf, Abrar Ahmed and Sufyan Muqeem are also part of the playing XI. Zimbabwe's playing XI includes captain Sikandar Raza, Tadvirashe Murumani, Brian Brent, Devon Meyers, Ryan Buller, Clive Madunde, Tshangga Musa Kiva, Wellington Masakadza, Richard Ngwarawa, Blessing Mzrabani and Traiyor Vegwand.
