Jammu and Kashmir, All Parties Hurriyat Conference expresses concern over increasing Indian military aggression

Srinagar (News International / Pakistan News - 06th December, 2024) The All Parties Hurriyat Conference in illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir has expressed concern over the increasing Indian military aggression against unarmed Kashmiris and said that the Kashmir dispute is purely a political issue that needs to be resolved in accordance with the relevant UN resolutions. According to Kashmir Media Service, All Parties Hurriyat Conference spokesperson Abdul Rashid Minhas said that in a meeting of the Hurriyat Conference in Srinagar, it was said that the unparalleled sacrifices made by Kashmiris for their inalienable right to self-determination have a prominent place in the freedom movements of the modern era.
The participants of the meeting said that after the abrogation of Articles 370 and 35A, Hurriyat leaders, civil society members, journalists, lawyers, human rights activists, ordinary citizens and other political leaders in the occupied territory have been facing illegal detentions and travel restrictions for the last five years.
Under these provisions of the Indian Constitution, Jammu and Kashmir, in addition to its special status, had its own constitution, flag, laws, and the rights of local Kashmiris to land, education, and jobs.
He said that India has deployed more than one million occupation troops in the occupied territory, who have a free hand to massacre unarmed Kashmiris under the black laws prevalent in Jammu and Kashmir. The meeting expressed concern over the continued illegal detention of Hurriyat leaders and activists and called for the immediate release of Hurriyat Chairman Masarat Alam Butt, Shabbir Ahmed Shah, Muhammad Yasin Malik, Asia Andrabi, Nahida Nasreen, Fehmida Sufi, Naeem Ahmed Khan, Ayaz Akbar, Pir Saifullah, Merajuddin Kalwal, Shahidul Islam, Farooq Ahmed Dar, Bilal Siddiqui, Maulvi Bashir Irfani, Mushtaqul Islam, Amir Hamza, Dr. Hameed Fayyaz, Abdul Ahmed Para, Hayat Ahmed Butt, Zafar Akbar Butt, Muhammad Yousaf Falahi, Rafiq Ahmed Ganai, Zahoor Ahmed Butt, Omar Adil Dar, Muhammad Yasin Butt, Fayyaz Hussain Jafri, human rights activists Khurram Pervez and journalists imprisoned in various jails in India and Kashmir.
The participants of the meeting also paid tribute to the Kashmiri youth who were martyred in a fake encounter in Srinagar recently. Hurriyat leaders urged UN Secretary General Antonio Guterres to take note of the current grave situation in Jammu and Kashmir under Indian illegal occupation and increase pressure on India to resolve the Kashmir issue in accordance with UN resolutions.
