Washington/London/Islamabad (UrduPoint News International/ Pakistan Point News - 26th December 2024) Richard Grenell, advisor to US President Donald Trump, who was elected in the recent election, reacted strongly and termed Defense Minister Khawaja Asif's statement as foolish and irresponsible. Zack Goldsmith and American political analyst Michael Kugelman also severely criticized the PML-N leader.


According to the details, Donald Trump's designated special envoy Richard Grenell has said in his response that the Pakistani embassy in Washington DC and Ambassador Rizwan Sheikh will have to give some explanations because the death threats and stupid things like Operation Goldsmith by the Pakistani Defense Minister are irresponsible talk. It should also be reviewed what assistance the US provides to Pakistan with taxpayers' money.


In his statement on the same issue, Zac Goldsmith, brother of Imran Khan's ex-wife Jemima, while addressing PML-N leader Khawaja Asif, said that this is the Defense Minister of Pakistan, that is, a man sitting in a responsible position who has invented something called "Operation Goldsmith". I am not surprised by his behavior, considering the long list of crimes that Khawaja Asif has been accused of during his political career. He said that I am not Israeli or in any way connected to Israel, I have regrettably visited your beautiful country only once, I have never directly or indirectly given financial support to any kind of politics in Pakistan, but I will happily donate to Imran Khan because unlike Khawaja Asif, he is an honest man and thinks only about Pakistan. He has never asked for help and will never say so. Commenting on Khawaja Asif’s statement, American political analyst Michael Kugelman says that Pakistan’s Defense Minister has described Imran Khan as an “Israeli asset” and is portraying global demands for the former prime minister’s release as an Israeli-sponsored conspiracy, which is frankly ridiculous because many of the foreigners who speak in favor of Imran Khan are openly critical of Israel.
